The brand new Omnistor 5102, a compact and modern awning, was developed especially for the Volkswagen T5 Multivan and VW T5 Transporter. If you have the optional factory-fitted awning on a VW California, that is this Omnistor 5102.
NOTE: If you have a UK-spec right hand drive Volkswagen T5 Multivan or VW Transporter you may prefer the Thule. Omnistor 5102 Awning - For Volkswagen T5 Multivan and VW T5 Transporter - Right Hand Drive Version which fits to the left of the vehicle.
The aluminium awning casing/box is light grey (RAL 9006) powder coated, and it is available with fabric colour of ALASKA GREY only (see photo). It measures 2.6m long, and projects 2.0m from the side of your VW T5 when fully extended.

If your van is not equipped with the necessary roof rail (as in the photo below) we recommend that you buy one after-market from Banwy at http://www.banwy.co.uk/product/t5-parts/roof-rails/t5-factory-roof-rack-preparation-kit-channel-rails (opens in new window) after which you will be able to fit this Thule 5102 awning using the standard-supplied brackets.
It may be possible to fit this awning in conjunction with a roofrack, but it depends upon the exact details of the roofrack you have and you will need to use your own judgement to decide (please download Omnistor 5102 Fitting Instructions (Warning: large 2.7 MB PDF, opens in new window)).
The Omnistor 5102 can not be fitted to a van with multirail. If you have a multirail fitted on you VW T5 campervan and you prefer a Thule Omnistor awning then combination of Thule Omnistor 5200/Thule Omnistor 4900 awning and Omnistor Brandrup rail adapter (2 pcs.) could be solution for you.
