Who we are

www.campingequipmentshop.co.uk is operated by Centraserve Ltd, a company registered in England, which is the data controller for this site. For any privacy question, or to exercise any of the rights below, use the contact form, which is the way to reach us.

What we collect, and why

Server logs

Our web server records each request: IP address, timestamp, the URL requested, the referring page and your browser's user-agent string. This is ordinary web-server logging, kept to run the site and spot abuse. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site. Logs are retained for 30 days and then deleted.

The contact form

If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you type. We use these only to answer you, on the lawful basis of our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, and delete them once they are no longer needed. The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA to block automated spam.

Advertising

This site carries advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to select and measure ads, and in some cases to personalise them. Where personalised advertising requires your consent, Google's consent tool asks for it before any such cookie is set, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time through the same tool.

You can review and control how Google uses data for advertising at My Ad Center, and opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings. We never receive your name, email address or any other identifying detail from the advertising system, and we do not sell data to anyone.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies and processes an IP address, which Google truncates. We use it only in aggregate, to decide what to work on. Where consent is required for these cookies, it is requested alongside the advertising consent above.

Cookies in summary

  • Strictly necessary - a session cookie for the admin area and the contact form's anti-spam token. No consent required under UK PECR.
  • Advertising - set by Google AdSense and its partners, subject to the consent tool described above.
  • Analytics - set by Google Analytics, subject to the same consent.
  • reCAPTCHA - set by Google on the contact form only, to distinguish humans from bots.

Your browser can block or delete any of these. Blocking advertising and analytics cookies does not affect your use of the site.

Sharing and transfers

We do not sell or rent personal data. The only third parties involved are Google (advertising, analytics and reCAPTCHA) and our hosting provider. Some of that processing takes place outside the UK, under the transfer safeguards those providers operate.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or ask us to restrict it. Use the contact form and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Archived content

The catalogue pages here are preserved from a business that has closed, recovered from public web archives. If you hold rights in any of that material and want it removed, tell us through the contact form and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no mailing list, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from.
