Who we are

www.campingequipmentshop.co.uk is operated by Centraserve Ltd, a company registered in England, which is the data controller for this site. For any privacy question, or to exercise any of the rights below, use the contact form, which is the way to reach us.

What we collect, and why

Server logs

Our web server records each request: IP address, timestamp, the URL requested, the referring page and your browser's user-agent string. This is ordinary web-server logging, kept to run the site and spot abuse. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site. Logs are retained for 30 days and then deleted.

The contact form

If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you type. We use these only to answer you, on the lawful basis of our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, and delete them once they are no longer needed. We do not add you to any mailing list. The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA to block automated spam; Google processes your IP address and interaction data for that check under its own privacy policy.

Amazon affiliate links

Some pages link to a product listing on Amazon. We are a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme, an affiliate scheme that lets us earn a small commission by linking to amazon.co.uk. When you follow one of those links, Amazon may set its own cookies or use a tracking identifier in the link to attribute the visit. That happens on Amazon's site, under Amazon's privacy notice, and we never see who you are or what you bought. Only aggregate, anonymous earnings reports come back to us.

Cookies

This site sets only strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie for the private admin area, and the contact form's anti-spam token. UK PECR permits these without consent, and there is no consent banner because there is nothing optional to consent to. We run no advertising network and no analytics on this site.

Google reCAPTCHA sets its own cookies, but only on the contact page. Amazon may set cookies after you click through to its site, as described above. Your browser can block or delete any of these without affecting your use of this site.

Sharing and transfers

We do not sell, rent or share personal data. The only third parties involved are our hosting provider, Google (reCAPTCHA on the contact form only) and Amazon (once you click an affiliate link). Some of that processing takes place outside the UK, under the transfer safeguards those providers operate.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or ask us to restrict it. Use the contact form and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no mailing list, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from.
